Pyramids, Aliens, Economics!

was watching this programme on, I think, Discovery where they were trying to explain about all the pyramids built in the BC periods 1000s of years ago. There were theories on how they should be landing pads for the aliens with super cool flying saucers. There were theories on how they must have used the most advanced technology like anti --gravity to move all the boulders and place them one over the other and build the pyramids overnight....well sort of.
They werent talking only about Egypt, but also about pyramids in south America, where there are also carvings of people who look like aliens, or who look like space men (present day astronauts) etc.
One picture in the pyramids even showed a light bulb, with vinegar batteries.
All that is fine. Think about it. Some really advance civilisation came to Earth thousands of years ago. sowed the seeds of technology. While they were here they built all these really neat structures, made humans their slaves (call them devotees if you want) and had plush life on Earth. Everything at their beckoning.
Why will really advanced civilisations people come and live on Earth, which wouldnt have been cool at all? Not really. You see Developed nations people, sometimes make the less developed nation's rich natural land, their home. Sometimes you are superman on Earth and common Krptonite on Krypton. Those Aliens who came would have been real thugs back home.
So Alien BOB said, "Mate, lets shack up here on Eirth phor sum time!"
Alien ROB replied, "Sure dude, lets stack some bricks too while we'r here."
And they played this game of Mahjong and stacked some huge bricks and viola you have the pyramids.
So we can make theories about the aliens and how they made our ancestors to build some pyramids and draw the nasca drawing the stone henge etc.
NOW LETS CHANGE THE PERSPECTIVE.
No Aliens came. Let us assume that.
The people 10000years ago were not as intelligent as us. Let us assume that too.
They were not very knowledgeble. This is also an assumption.
Now we have some people in the old days. We have a King, few army men, ministers and the people of the kingdom. All fine. Then we have a Metaphysical subject - GOD. I do not mean disrespect. Kindly do not misunderstand me here.
So the King wants to remain in power all the time. Also ensure that his children are in power after him. King says to his subjects that he is GOD. Yes, thats what they did in olden days. To remain in power they shamlessly called themselves GOD.
How will the King tell the idiotic subjects that he is The God?
He will repeatedly perform acts of extreme bravery and survive great perils. He will command respect and dictate with force. He will perform miracles, which are in fact exclusive knowledge of the elements that he posseses. And a God needs an abode - a Temple. So he builds temples for himself. Ostentatious palaces filled with rituals and protocols to make the entire process even more awe genrating experience for the subjects to see.
This is the simplest way to explain the huge structures of those age. Moreover it is human tendency to be perched on the top to dictate to the ones who obey you. The higher you are
the better the view. Sometimes we like to view the whole town or city from our controlling point.
Nowadays we use close cicuit cameras, Satellite imagery etc.
Hokay now the real proposition i want to make. We all agree on why the ego of the kings and rulers led them to build large buildings. But that does not explain the Nasca drawinggs, the hundreds of temples of Chola Kingdom, the huge monoliths on the island...????(i dont remember its name)

I say all thesemighty buildings were built because of ECNOMIC reasons.
Thats right. Elementary economics say that increase in government expenditure increases the money supply in the economy leading to better consumption and a robust growth in the economy.

So initially they built one pyramid, one drawing, one temple etc. The results were immediately visible in the kingdom. there was lot of work for people, skilled artisans, masons, unskilled labourers etc. The lack of technology meant they spent more resources than present day.
So a construction project was the economy mover in those days.

Think about it. If you are in 4000BC. You are trading with India from Egypt. Your tools are the stars, sun and moon for navigation. If some one asks you the time you look up at the sky and say its third quarter in the evening. No, you dont have the latest Rado watch. Forget GPS, they thought the world was flat in those days.

In such situation what do you do when you build great buildings? What ? whtat?
You will tend to show your aesthetic skills and mathematical skill by aligning the buildings to the sun moon and stars.

And when the next king came to rule the advisers had seen that builidng these things and aligning them to the stars was good for the kindom. So they advised them to build more and bigger structurers till such time when all the resources extinguished.

So when you start building there is full chain of eventst that happen. Fisrt you need material like rocks and stones, you need architects, sculptures, artists, masons, engineers, labourers, animals like elephants, camels horses depending on your location, tools and tool maker.....and the list goes on.

Some will say slaves built the structures. But still you need people to capture slaves, you need to feed slaves, you need slave trainers and controllers etc....so slaves were cheap but not cost free.

In egypt it was pyramids, in South india and thailan it was the temples, in South america the pyramids the nasca drawings....everthing meant use of the reasources available. It was the way money from the king got distributed to the people and made more money for the kingdom.

It still is the way. Governments give incentives to invest in houses or industries to increase the expenditures of people so that money circulates in the economy.

Look at India, the govt gave income tax exemptions on houses and you have a boom in the construction industry. You can see this happening every where.

It is when you spend resources on non productive activities like the pyramids that your economy finally stops. After a point the king does not have any more money to spend and he is not gaining anything beyond the taxes and if his collection is less than the expenditure he is doomed and so is his kingdom.

So ladies and gentlemen....face it...everything in this world runs around money in some form or other....pyramids were not built by aliens but by humans....but it might just be possible that the concept of money was introduced to us by aliens....now that is a thought!!!!

The World Brain!!!

thinking about thoughts and how it is created in our brain i got thinking about this world.

Look at the world today- billions of people like billions of cells in our body. Network of roads and rails like veins. Telephone and internet like nerves. Power stations like the stomach. And we can go on about the anology.

The biggest thing that is more like a living thing in the wotld today is the internet. the net is becoming the worlds memory. the search engines the memory recallers. just like the neurons oin the brain strengthening with repeat performance of mental tasks we have the search engines spewing out the worlds most liked memories or sites. this makes more people toto visit the same sites.

the world brain with people in it start thinking in the same topics and ideas. soon we will have a world with conciousness.

woulds you like to be a part of a large brain?!!!

Thinking about the thought (cont of previous post)

Well kind of unwound myself. Now let me try and theorise what is thought?

1.)thought is conciousness, which is also the soul. An expression of the soul in this world is thought.

2.) thought is conciousness, there is no soul, and it will end with the persons death. It is a complex function of the electromagnetic waves etc in this universe.

The first hypothesis is easy. It squarely puts everything as metaphysical, trasfers logic into faith and gives way to a soul which ultimately will be part of our creator the GOD. In this realm things are not really 1+1 = 2 or even P(1+1)=f(a,b) ie probability of the action is a function of some other variables. NO NO, i have started to bable like the priests of science. So, we will take this discussion in the places of worship or with people of great faith. Let it wait for now.

Lets see what the second one has to tell us. Its but OBVIOUS that brain has the thoughts.
Lets see in terms of our basic understanding what do we mean by it. Take the sense taste.
We will make sense of it. take sugar and put it on the tongue. Delicious!! When the molecules of sugar touch the tongue, some kind of receptors is set off. Like we can open a lock with only its respective key. This receptor sends a signal to the brain telling it that sugar has entered the mouth. The brain now has a kind of signal pattern generated in its neurons that is repeated every time we taste sugar. This pattern is the same everytime. Am not sure whether it is exactly the same! So this electrical signal firing through the brain actually generates the thought sweet or delicious.

Hmmm..... think about it. Digest this fact. Now if we cut the tongue - so much the better, cos most poeple dont like me talking - and find the nerves that carry the signal to the brain, activate it to send exactly the same type of signal that sugar produced, will we feel sweet?????

Can we fake sugar? Answer is YES! We are not so advanced in this technology but we defenitely know that signals to the brain's various parts do feel like actual experience.

This is nonsense you say. You think those guys fake it. How can you taste when you got no tongue. Ooops I am tongue tied or am I?

What about dreams? when we dream we dont actually do all those things, but to a great extend we do feel all that.

So what we think and what we feel happens in the brain and not in the sense organs in our body.

INTERESTING.

So what happens in the brain?
Take some magnets and play with it. We can feel some invisble force in action. If we jump up we come back down. There are forces in this world that we experience and yet do not completely know or understand how it works the way it does. And these forces are in some way involved with the process of generating thoughts. Energy is made up of electromagnetic waves. Some how these waves must be playing in a way to make itself aware of itself.!

I AM stuck here.....cannot move further. Means i do not know what is thought. Sorry.

What am I and you and all this universe?

Think about it!
No, Sincerely think about it!
What?!! Well nothing much but the fact that we, you and I, are made up of something.
This something is so complicated to comprehend that they have a whole branch of
science to "try" and explain it.

Am I trying to tell you about small electrons and protons and other things that we are made of.

Not exactly about it but things that make us. Seriously do we care enough to know what we are made of. mostly we are not even aware of the fact. Seriously, how many times have you thought about yourself?
Hold on...not about your SELF in terms of person or ego or id etc but your body. How many times in a day....actually in a year do you stop and ask "What is inside me?" "What is underneath my skin?" Not many times.

We just dont get the right answers, so we are not bothered. We are more bothered about the work, kids, spouse etc.

But think about it. Us and all this universe is made of some similar building blocks.
So they - The Scientists, tried to explain what they are made of and got really messed up.
Now they call it Quantum Physics.

Its really useful and cos of that we have computers today. Yup! believe me its cos someone dared to ask what are we.

But let me leave all these things here cos you can read all this in books and on the net.
Let me tell you about my thoughts. No, actually about THOUGHTS!

What is a thought. What is this we call awareness, consciousness etc. Its messy here.
We are thinking about the thought. Cool stuff this thought.

In the brain we have this millions of neurons that send electricity here and there and we
have thoughts or when we have thoughts the brain sends electricity. either way there is something about electrical pulses and thoughts.

So maybe if we connect enough wires and spark it with couple of batteries or cells will the tangled web of copper be able to think? Hmmmmm....
may be it does and may be it thinks to it self ...what the hell is going on . HaHAHa.

Or may be not. We dunno now.

But what is this thought? Is it some thing caused by the electrical signals or is it the other way?

That is some food for thought.!

Now i am really messed up. Will write some other time.
